Shirley Loo: Reconsidering giving up seats I’ve always known that giving up one’s seat is a virtue. But at this age, when I see people entering the subway car, most are looking at their phones. If I am fortunate enough to have a seat, would I give it up? To be honest, if I see someone younger than me, I would continue to sit comfortably.
